This Privacy Policy describes how Someone Interesting ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Someone Interesting application available at someoneinteresting.online (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.
The data controller responsible for your information is the operator of Someone Interesting, contactable at nowhereinteresting@gmail.com.
Precise geolocation data. When you grant location permission, your device continuously provides your GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, and accuracy radius) to our servers. This is the core data that powers the App.
Technical data. Our infrastructure automatically collects standard server logs including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages accessed. This data is handled by our third-party infrastructure providers as described below.
Error reports. If the App encounters a technical error, an automated report including your browser type, operating system, and a stack trace may be sent to our error monitoring service. Location data is not included in error reports.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials. There are no user accounts.

For precise geolocation data, which constitutes sensitive data under some jurisdictions, we rely solely on your explicit consent. You may withdraw this consent at any time by closing or navigating away from the App — your location is removed from our servers immediately upon disconnection. You may also revoke location permission in your device settings at any time.
With other App users. Your location is shared in real time with other connected users. Depending on your distance from others, the precision of your shared location is adjusted: users within 50km receive higher-precision coordinates; users farther away receive progressively coarsened coordinates to limit unnecessary exposure of your exact position.
With service providers. We share data with the following third-party providers who process data on our behalf:
Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ourselves or others.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial or advertising purposes.
Your location data is held in server memory only for the duration of your active connection. When you close the App, navigate away, or lose connection, your data is immediately removed from our servers. We do not write location data to any persistent database or storage system.
Technical logs retained by our infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, PartyKit) are subject to their respective data retention policies.
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS. Location data is held exclusively in ephemeral server memory and is never written to disk. We implement rate limiting and input validation to protect against abuse.
No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our infrastructure is operated by Cloudflare and PartyKit, which may process data in the United States and other countries. If you are located in the EEA or UK, your data may be transferred to countries that do not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction. Such transfers are made subject to appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses where required.

We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under CCPA/CPRA. We have no financial relationship with data brokers or advertisers.
Sensitive personal information. Precise geolocation is classified as sensitive personal information under CPRA. We collect and use your precise geolocation solely to operate the App's core function — pointing a compass at the nearest connected user — and for no other purpose. We do not use it for profiling, advertising, or any secondary purpose. Because we use sensitive personal information only for the primary purpose for which it was provided, and do not use or disclose it in ways that would require us to offer a right to limit, we are not required to provide a separate "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" link under CPRA Regulations Section 7027(m). If you nonetheless wish to stop your precise geolocation from being processed, simply close or navigate away from the App — your data is removed immediately.
Submitting a request. To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us at nowhereinteresting@gmail.com. Please describe your request in sufficient detail for us to verify and respond. We will respond within 45 days. Because we do not retain personal data after your session ends, most requests are automatically satisfied by the ephemeral nature of the App.
The App is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
The App does not use cookies, pixel trackers, fingerprinting, or local storage for tracking purposes. Cloudflare Web Analytics, our analytics provider, operates without cookies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
